The Real Federación Española de Deportes de Hielo (RFEDH) is pleased to announce the successful resolution of the situation regarding the copyright rights of Tomàs Guarino’s short program. As a result, the Catalan skater will be able to perform his Minions-inspired routine at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, as well as at future international events during the current season.
The four musical pieces included in the program have been authorized for use by the respective rights holders: Universal Fanfare from The Minions and Vicious Funk by Héctor Pereira (Universal Pictures), Freedom by Pharrell Williams (Sony Music), and the Minions Bounce mix by Spanish DJ Juan Alcaraz.
Both the RFEDH and Tomàs Guarino would like to express their sincere thanks to ClicknClear, the International Skating Union (ISU) partner platform responsible for managing the payment of music rights required for the successful registration of competition programs, as well as to the companies and authors involved for their cooperation and willingness to find a solution.
Pending the draw for the skating order, Guarino will perform his short program on Tuesday, February 10, between 6:30 p.m. and 10:44 p.m. at the Milano Ice Skating Arena.
Below is a message from Tomàs Guarino addressed to everyone who has supported him over the past few days:
